Discounts - Part 1: Initial Setup

Discounts provides numerous options for you to offer reduced prices, waived fees, and add-ons with your products, while also setting qualifiers & limitations. You can even create or add your own codes. The 'Buy X, Get Y free' discount type will allow you to provide free products with the purchase of other items in your customers cart.

  • Just make sure you've already built your products before you create discounts.
  • We recommend testing all discounts before they go public to ensure they work as intended.

This feature is not activated on all sites. If you're interested in setting up ecommerce on your site, please contact Saffire Support.

Terminology & Concepts

  • Qualified Discount: This is a discount that is only applied once certain criteria has been met. For instance, a customer can only receive a discount after they have purchased a specific product/price type.
  • Add-on Product: This is a product that is comped when using a Discount Code during checkout. These products aren't given any dollar value for an exchange or refund. When you provide an Add-on to your customer when they apply a Discount, the will be prompted with the opportunity to add it to their cart for FREE.
  • Qualifier: A qualifier represents the conditions for when a discount can be applied to an order.
  • Limits: A limit provides you with the ability to set a maximum use for any particular discount. These include the options of:

    -Uses Per Code

    -Units Per Code

    -Subtotal Value Per Code

-Subtotal Value (including all codes in the discount)

  • Waive Fees*: Choose which Fees you would like to waive as part of the discount. This will apply to ALL products on the order (not only the discounted products).

*NOTE: You cannot choose to 'waive' fees that are In-Price as these aren't visibly labeled to your customers. In all cases, In-Price Fees are treated as ticket Face Value for Discounting.
