New Discount Type: Buy X, Get Y Free (BOGO)

Location: Commerce > Discounts : Add Discount > Discount Type

We've introduced a new Discount Type: Buy X, Get Y Free (BOGO). Once you've chosen this new Discount Type, you can set the standard parameters that you're used to, such as:

  • Discount Name
  • Valid Dates and Times
  • Description in cart

But then, you'll see a new workflow to build out your discount. This is a two column layout where you can determine what the Customer Buys on the left side and what they Get Free on the right side.

You can now allow for the discount to be applied in Multiples: meaning that your customers can qualify more than once on the discount. For example if it's 'Buy 2, Get 1 Free' and you allow multiples, then your customers can Buy 4, Get 2 Free, and Buy 6, Get 3 Free, etc.

You also can set a Multiple Limit so that you can allow this for only a certain amount of free tickets.

In this new Discount Type, the only Limit that is available to you is Uses Per Code and the Codes tab is unchanged from other Discount Types, so you can easily add a single code by using the Quick Add button or use the Bulk Add to generate a large number of codes and/or import a series of codes.

Customer View

When your customers are utilizing this new Discount Type, they will want to cart all of the products they intend to receive. After applying the code, the Subtotal will show a Discounted line item to reduce the cost for them.

NOTE: if you wish for a product to be added to the cart with the addition of a code instead of reducing the cost, then you'll want to use a Discount Type: General with the product on the Add-on tab. This is different from Buy X, Get Y Free (BOGO) in that, much like grocery shopping, a BOGO reduces the subtotal, not adds products/tickets to the cart.

Fraud Chargeback Form - PDF download

Spark Location: Commerce > Reports > Purchases : Order Viewer

As a Spark Admin, if you have access to the Purchases Report, you will now be able to download a PDF that contains all relevant information for a Chargeback Dispute. Previously, you had to Export the order and navigate excel and other reports within Spark to gather all of these pieces of Compelling Evidence, but we wanted to remove much of that time/frustration from locating all of this information.

Now from within the Order Viewer, on the Actions Menu, you can click Download PDF for the Chargeback Form.

This new Chargeback Form will include:

  • Transaction information such as: Date/time, $ amount, Order #, Purchase Location, Customer Name, Email, IP Address, Transaction ID, Authorization Code, Name on Card, Card Type, Card Last 4, Gateway, and Billing/Delivery addresses (if collected)
  • Details about the order: List of Tickets/Products purchased with QTY and $ amount, 3D Secure Authorization (if collected), Delivery confirmation of the Email with Digital Goods, Acceptance of Purchasing Policy (if enabled), and a table with details about the Ticket Usage.

NOTE: The information on the PDF will only show if the relevant information is collected.

For instance, if none of the tickets have been scanned on the order, then the section with a table for "Products Used" will be hidden.

Events/Businesses Locations - improvement

The list of Locations now displays more relevant information on the screen. You can now easily see the Name AND Physical Location on this list of Locations. Additionally, we've added a search to this page to easily target and find the correct location.

  • Search Bar
  • Pages
  • Physical Address column
  • Sorting options by Name or Physical Location

In addition to the Locations list, when creating a new business or event, the locations will be grouped together by your sorting preferences.

Upselling from a popup

Location: Commerce > Products > Edit > Sales Tab

Products that you have determined to be suggested when products are added to the cart will now appear in the Add to Cart popup in addition to being suggested in the Cart. This popup will display a single product at a time with a scrolling option for suggesting multiple different products.

An additional improvement we've done with this is to include the option for customers to Show Details, revealing the Website Description for these products both in the popup and in the cart.

Kiosk Updates

  • Introduced a "MORE" button at both the top and bottom of the kiosk product list. This will be a visual cue for your customers that there may be more products that they don't see at first glance, encouraging them to touch the button or scroll with their finger through the list.
  • Improved some of the Interface on Kiosk, including making the "PAY" button larger and it won't appear until there is a product added to the cart.
  • We've changed the 'CANCEL' button to "START OVER" and this button also has a major impact in that it will also perform a product refresh. Meaning that if you make an update to a product to display or not from Spark, you can now force the refresh without the use of a keyboard or waiting till the product list is auto refreshed after a timeout.

  • New Maintenance Mode for Kiosk: From the menu, you can now put the kiosk into an Out of Order/Maintenance Mode if you are waiting for the device to be serviced. This can now be done so that your customers have a clear visual that they need to utilize a different kiosk or seller until the kiosk is available again.
  • Use cases:
    • Waiting to replenish ticket stock
    • Printer jam or malfunction
    • If the kiosk requires service that can't be taken care of immediately.

  • To exit Maintenance Mode, navigate back to the Menu and click 'BACK' to return to product sales page.

Other Improvements

  • New Search Options in the Purchases Report
    • You can now search by Transaction ID or Transaction Auth Code: This is to assist in searching for orders that may have been paid using a digital wallet, therefore using masked credit card information.
    • These fields are also now visible in the Order Viewer in the Payment Summary overview and on the customer receipt.
  • New Product Limit
    • In the product editor, you can limit the total number of tickets purchasable by a single email address, even if purchased on multiple orders/transactions. The goal of this new limit is to ensure fair access to products for all customers and reduce the potential risk of bulk purchasing for the purpose of resale.

NOTE: This is NOT a Fraud Protection tool. Therefore, this limit is NOT something that can be overridden by whitelist. If you wish to allow for an exception, you'll need to remove the limit until the completion of the transaction or generate a customer invoice.
