Use Friendly URLs to create a shorter address for any page on your site. These are simply 'pointers' the server uses to find the actual URL. Shorter is better when it comes to digital marketing - especially for social media where the number of characters may be limited.

Use Redirects to send the server to a different page, including changing the URL in the browser. This is used for redirecting pages from an old site to similar pages - yet with different URLs - on a new site, or for reorganizing your navigation without needing to rebuild it.

Spark location: Settings > Site Settings > Friendly URLs

  • Use the Search box if you already have a long list of URLs and need to find one to edit or deactivate
  • Hover over the pencil to Edit or Deactivate a URL
  • Click Add New Friendly URL to create a new short URL

URL ending - add a backslash [ / ] and the text of your choice to identify the page. Example: www.yourdomain.com/text-here

Original URL - this is the page you want the above URL to link to. Example: www.yourdomain.com/mypage.aspx

This is also a great solution when promoting a specific page on your site on posters, flyers, radio ads, TV ads, and press releases.
