Forget about resolution. Really. If you'd like a detailed explanation on this topic, we recommend you read The 72 PPI Web Resolution Myth.

Pixel dimensions

Technically (other than quality photography), this is all you need to be concerned with. Here are the guidelines for your Saffire site:

  • Make sure all of your images are at least 400 pixels wide by 400 pixels tall. You can go much bigger, but if they're any smaller you won't have enough margin for cropping and they'll end up not filling the space allotted on event & business pages, or in the photo galleries.
  • Think big. Your main homepage feature should be no less than 600x400. You may need to crop these, as well.
    • Dimensions vary from site to site. Check with a Saffire coach if you need to get the correct dimensions for your main feature.

    • If you have a fullscreen main feature, your image should be at least 1920x1080 (which is considered HD) and we recommend using photos that are at least twice that size: 3820x2160 (which is 4k). You never know what size screen someone might be using to view your site, and you want your images to look great no matter what. Right?
