7.1 Release Notes

This month, updates to the Saffire platform include...

  • editing functionality to Invoice Management
  • standardized user controls to ensure admins have basic access and to simplify management of SaffireTix users
  • expanded details in the Change Log to include filtering by Type
  • custom Renewal Reminder Emails for sites with Membership tools
  • several additional 'tweaks' to clarify instructions, standardize terminology, and fix onscreen formatting issues.

New Invoice Management

Spark Location: Commerce > Reports > Purchases

We've brought all of the functionality you love from Order Management into our Invoice Management tool. Now when you send an invoice to a customer, you're able to make edits/revisions before they complete the purchase without the need to generate an all new Invoice.

When you hover over an Invoice from the Purchases Report, you'll see the option to Edit in the dropdown. This will open the invoice in a new tab of your browser to add/remove any products on the order before you save changes.

Upon saving the changes, you can choose to Email Updated Receipt to the customer with their reminder to pay the invoice. If you don't send an updated receipt, the 'pay invoice' link they previously had is automatically updated with the newly saved revisions.



User Enhancements

Spark Location: Tools > Users

We've introduced several improvements to the way you can add/edit your Saffire Admin and SaffireTix Users in Spark.

The first change we implemented is related to Saffire Admin Users:

  • When you create a new Admin User, you now have to select at least one Nav Item within the Access Tab. This new requirement will prevent the creation of users that aren't given any access and end up being in a continuous loop of being told they don't have access after updating their passwords.

The next set of changes are related to SaffireTix Users:

  • Import Users: We have added a new column for Temporary Password to the Import document so that when you create all of your Sellers/Users you can assign a temporary password in one go instead of having to manually edit each individual Seller's profile.
  • Export Users: This exported file has been standardized so that the exact same file can be edited and then re-imported to make any bulk changes to Users.

NOTE: Exporting users will never show Passwords, so the Temporary Password column will always be blank.

  • Device Login PIN: We've removed the requirement to create a PIN when you edit a user's access within your SaffireTix Locations. When using the Import, you can leave it blank which results in no PIN for that user, you can assign a unique PIN for the user, or you can type the word "generate" and a random PIN will be created for this user.
    • Additionally, when you remove a PIN from a user, that PIN will be opened up to be reassigned to another individual.

Change Log Improvements

Spark Location: Tools > Auditing > Change Log

The Change Log was introduced a few releases ago and continues to grow and expand to provide you with a more in-depth and comprehensive list of actions that have occurred on your site.

We've added a Filter by Type to the Change Log so that you can now see all of the logged edits of:

  • Products
  • Cash Deposits
  • Dynamic Pages
  • Events
  • Business
  • IP Blacklists that have been requested.

The Actions currently being recorded for each of these items include: Creating new, Editing existing, Copy, Deactivate, & Delete.

These are recorded in chronological order by email address of the Admin that performed these changes.



Custom Membership Renewal Reminder Emails

Spark Location: Tools > Site Settings > Emails

Membership is not enabled on all Saffire sites, therefore this feature may not be relevant or visible to you. If you have any questions about membership sites, please reach out to your Account Manager by emailing us at support@saffire.com

You can now edit a pre-existing or create a new customized Membership Renewal Reminder emails with varying Subjects.


Other Improvements

In addition to building out new features, we strive to constantly improve our existing features and its through the feedback provided by you that we are able to make these improvements. Some other smaller improvements and fixes included as part of the 7.1 Release are:

  • We've clarified some of the language on the Discounts Limits and Qualifiers tabs to provide a better contextual understanding.
  • In Kiosk, we have changed the text to say "click PAY" to match the PAY button on the bottom right to reduce customer confusion.
  • Improved SMS Text Messaging popups: when the number pad is displayed in both Kiosk and Web Box Office, we've made the Send button more prominent on the bottom right and only clickable after 10-digits have been entered.
  • In Web Box Office, we have removed the text wrapping that occurred when you entered a long email address in the Email field.
