SaffireCommerce 101

Eventually, nearly every website finds a need to offer some form of ecommerce (aka ecom). Short for 'electronic commerce', this simply refers to the buying and selling of goods or services using the internet, and the transfer of money and data to execute these transactions. We refer to basic ecom as SaffireCommerce and it can be activated on any Saffire-hosted site.

Possibilities

SaffireCommerce comes in a variety of forms involving different relationships between your business and your customers. What's possible with SaffireCommerce? You can...

• Sell your merchandise online, such as T-shirts, sweaters, ball caps, accessories, etc.
• Collect donations with fixed or free-form pricing. 
• Sell sponsorship packages and ad space on your website. 
• Accept registrations for tradeshows, conventions, competitions, etc. and collect the fees online!
• Sell products to international customers and set up delivery methods for shipping & handling, or will call pickup.

Setup

A Saffire compatible online payment gateway is required in order to process any ecommerce transaction. Please review our list of Compatible Gateways to see if you're already using a gateway supported by our platform, or to compare and decide which gateway works best for your organization. Then contact Saffire Support to initiate the setup.
