Form Items

Drag & drop any dark blue Form Item in the left panel onto any gray "Drag New Form Item Here" area within the form. Once you've added an item to a column, you can reorder the items within the column, or move it to a different column.

Item Descriptions

  • Most items can individually be set as a required field. The form will warn the user if a required field has not been completed when attempting a submission. 
  • Title and description fields are available for most items, but are not required.
  • The User Account Info item - which includes first name, last name & email address - is required on every form.

SUBHEADING

A non-data-collecting item. This is simply used to separate types of information in the form layout.

PAGE TEXT

Another non-data-collecting item. It provides a simple text editor for adding information within the form and is often used to add extra spacing between form items. In the Page Text editor, use 'shift+enter' to add a single line-break, or use 'enter' along to add two line breaks. 

TEXT FIELD

Allows you to capture simple information from a single data field. Select a specific data type Text, Date, Currency, Number, Email Address, Phone Number, or Web Address. You can adjust the character limit.

MULTIPLE LINE TEXT FIELD

A variation of the basic text field for capturing multiple lines of data. You can adjust the number of lines and the total character limit.

DROPDOWN 

A list of choices from which the user can make a single selection. Similar to radio buttons, but the list isn't seen until the menu is clicked on. 

CHECKBOX

Allows the user to select a single option.

RADIO BUTTONS

A list of choices from which the user can make a single selection. Similar to a dropdown menu, except everything is visible. 

ITEMS FOR SALE

You can sell products through a form as long as a form has not already been added to the product. For more details, read Selling Products on a Form.

FILE UPLOAD FIELD

This allows or requires an additional file to be included with each form submission. You can determine if it should accept all types of files, or strictly images, or PDFs. Maximum file size is 5mb. 

STATE & COUNTRY

Used on forms which need these two fields without a full address. The country field is preset as a required field in this item. 

ADDRESS

Common address information for personal or business locations.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

This field is always required when added to a form. It allows you to include custom terms which must be agreed to before the form will submit. Choose to display the terms on the page or in a pop-up window, and select whether to include the terms in all emails generated by the form.

CHECKBOX LIST

Allows the user to select multiple options. Default selection can be set for each option.

Saffire forms cannot be used to collect sensitive data. This includes credit card numbers, social security numbers, passwords, or similar types of information. Saffire will remove forms without notice which attempt to capture and store sensitive data.
